On the morning of June 26, college leaders and relevant faculty held a discussion and exchange with Dr. Wang Damao, providing detailed introductions to the university's talent recruitment policies, the college's research platforms, research achievements, and disciplinary development and reflections. In the afternoon, the College of Food Science Sub-forum of the university's 3rd Young Scholars Hanhong Science and Technology Forum, hosted by the Personnel Department and organized by the College of Food Science, was held. Dr.Wang Damao, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Glycoscience at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, was invited to attend the forum and give an academic presentation. Zhang Fusheng of the College of Food Science moderated the forum. Some young faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students from the college attended the forum.

Dr. Wang Damao focused on the theme of diversified utilization of marine biomass, with emphasis on the chemistry and enzymatic saccharification of major carbohydrates in marine biomass, the use of genetic engineering and synthetic biology to achieve downstream conversion into biofuels and chemicals, and the production of high-value, health-beneficial functional oligosaccharides. He also introduced research on novel enzymes and polysaccharide depolymerization, surface modification, and chemical methods for achieving specific functionalization of polysaccharides, thereby realizing diversified utilization of marine biomass.
After the presentation, several young faculty members and graduate students had further exchanges and discussions with Dr. Wang Damao on issues encountered in their research.
