Dean Liu Chengyu Leads a Team to Conduct Research and Exchange at the College of Food Science

Against the backdrop of globalized higher education, the recruitment and cultivation of international students have become an inevitable trend. To standardize the recruitment,cultivationand administration of international students, elevate the college’s international education level, and fully implement theMeasures for the Recruitment and Cultivation of International Students of Southwest University, Professor Liu Chengyu, Dean of the International College, led a team to carry out research and exchange activities at the College of Food Science on the morning of April 9, 2021. The visiting group included Huang Wuwei and Song Gege from the Admissions Office, and Jing Keli, international student counselor from the Student Affairs Office. Wu Junping, Party Secretary of the College of Food Science, Zhang Yuhao, College Dean, Fu Yu, Assistant Dean, Yuan Xiameng, Foreign Affairs Secretary, as well as Feng Xi and Chen Lu from the College Student Affairs Office attended the research meeting.

During the meeting, representatives from the International College introduced the college’s admission and school-running system, teaching and cultivationadministration, and the current progress of relevant work. Dean Liu Chengyu delivered a key interpretation of theMeasures for the Recruitment and Cultivation of International Students of Southwest University. He stated that the recruitment and administration of international students should adhere to the principle of improving quality and efficiency. He emphasized the pivotal role of secondary colleges in international student management and training, and spoke highly of the scholarship incentive policies for international students formulated by our college.

Subsequently, Dean Zhang Yuhao briefly introduced the overall development of the College of Food Science. Assistant Dean Fu Yu elaborated on the basic situation and preliminary achievements of the college’s international student work, and put forward the existing difficulties and challenges in daily operation. Leaders from both colleges conducted in-depth discussions on relevant issues and reached a consensus on key aspects including student source quality optimization, integrated management of domestic and international students, and standardized graduation requirements.

At the end of the meeting, Party Secretary Wu Junping, on behalf of the college, expressed sincere gratitude to the International College for its visit and long-term support for the college’s internationalization work. He summarized the fruitful outcomes of the exchange meeting and affirmed the college’s determination and confidence to strengthen collaborative cooperation with the International College and further advance high-quality international education development.

The efficient and in-depth bilateral exchange clarified the development direction of the college’s international education work and laid a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two colleges, which will further boost the high-quality development of the college’s internationalization construction.
