The University Hosts the Second Belt and Road International Symposium on Food Safety and Nutrition

On June 9, the SecondBelt and RoadInternational Symposium on Food Safety and Nutrition, organized by the university's College of Food Science and theChinese-Hungarian Cooperative Research Center for Food Science, was held at the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges. Nearly 30 participants attended the symposium, including Luo Qing, Science and Technology Counselor oftheEmbassy of the People's Republic of China in Hungary; Lei Hongmei, Science and Technology Counselor oftheEmbassy of the People's Republic of China inSpanish; and experts in food science from relevant countries. Among them, a delegation of three experts from the Food Science Research Institute of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences attended in person.

The symposium was moderated by Wu Junping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Food Science. A representative of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchangespresented the university's achievements in international science and technology cooperation and exchange. At the opening ceremony, Luo Qing and Lei Hongmei delivered speeches respectively, introducing a series of China–Hungary and China–Spain international science and technology cooperation initiatives and policies, and expressing the hope that the cooperating teams would further broaden their cooperation channels and make new contributions toBelt and Roadinternational science and technology cooperation.

During the conference, experts from the Food Science Research Institute of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Institute of Fats and Oils (Instituto de la Grasa) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Alexandria University of Egypt, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and the university'sChinese-Hungarian Cooperative Research Center for Food Sciencedelivered 12 wonderful academic presentations, summarizing the achievements since the project cooperation began, sharing research experience, and discussing international science and technology cooperation and exchange under the new circumstances. The successful convening of the symposium laid a foundation for further deepening and advancing the university's international science and technology cooperation in the field of food safety and nutrition under theBelt and Roadframework, and for promoting more concrete and substantiveBelt and Roadscience, technology, and innovation cooperation.
