On February 2, 2026, the "Training Meeting on ISO International Standard Formulation and Revision Procedures and Rules in the Field of Meat, poultry, fish, eggs and their products and Seminar on Project Applications for International Standards Such as Fish Balls," hosted by the China General Chamber of Commerce and co-organized by Southwest University and Anjoy Foods Group Co., Ltd., was grandly held at the Beibei Campus of Southwest University. More than 20 experts, technical personnel, and researchers from 7 standardization institutions, research institutes, and food enterprises across the country gathered together to discuss the paths for building and practically implementing international standards in the food field.

At the meeting, Director Liu Zhenyu of the China General Chamber of Commerce delivered a keynote training session. Focusing on the full-cycle management system of ISO international standards, he systematically explained the entire process and rules, from proposal initiation, project approval voting, and draft preparation to final publication, clarifying the core points and key links in standard formulation and revision for the participants. After the keynote training, participants held in-depth discussions and full exchanges on core topics such as the scientific validity of project application proposals for international standards including fish balls and the feasibility of advancing international standardization, reaching consensus on multiple points.
Fan Daming, Vice President of Southwest University, expressed sincere gratitude for the arrival of all participating experts and representatives. He said that Southwest University would take this meeting as an important opportunity, rely on the platform advantages of the China-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Laboratory of Food Science (in Preparation), focus on key research in the international standardization of meat products, and make every effort to promote the establishment of an international food standard system that combines Chinese cultural distinctiveness with international scientific recognition. The College of Food Science of Southwest University would also take the initiative and actively act, fully participating in the formulation, revision, and application of relevant international standards, contributing the strength of a university to promoting China's international standard development in the food field and enhancing the industry's international discourse power.
