On May 14, 2026, the first session of theBelt and RoadBigHealth Forum, jointly organized by the China-Hungary Belt and Road Joint LaboratoryofFood Science, Chinese-Hungarian Cooperative Research Center for Food Science, and the College of Food Science, was successfully heldat Southwest University. The forum, themed "Bringing together young researchers from China and Europe to explore the frontiers ofbighealth and food science," adopted a hybrid format combining online and offline participation, providing a high-level, cross-border academic exchange platform for young scholars from China and abroad. The forum was moderated by Professor Du Muying of the College of Food Science.

Seven young scholars from China, Hungary, and Denmark deliveredin-depthpresentations and engaged in scholarlyexchangescentered on the overarching themes ofbighealth, whole-chain food research and development, and ecological sustainability. Their presentationscovered key frontier directions, including biotechnology, functional foods, health regulation, and novel materials, presenting faculty and students with a thought-provoking and practically grounded academicexperience.The attendees listened attentively and engaged actively in discussions, which effectively facilitated academic mutual learning and deepened collaborative ties between China and Hungary in the fields of food science andbighealth.

The successful organization of this forum has significantly reinforced the cooperative foundation between China and Hungary in food science within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, facilitating youth talent exchange and the cross-fertilization of emerging technologies. In the future, the China-Hungary Belt and RoadJoint LaboratoryofFood Science is committed to establishing a sustained series of academic exchange platforms, thereby fostering transnational scientific collaboration and promoting the high-quality advancement of thebighealth industry.
