On the morning of June 5, LiuChenglong, Vice Chairman of the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, and ZhangXinyan, Director of the International Cooperation Department, visited the College of Food Science at Southwest University to inspect the construction and operation of the China-Hungary Belt and Road Joint LaboratoryofFood Science (inPreparation). KanJianquan, Executive Director of the Joint Laboratory; Huang Nan, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Food Science; and LiuXiong, Secretary-General of Chongqing Food Science and Technology Society, accompanied the delegation during the visit.

The delegation led by LiuChenglong first visited the China-Hungary Belt and Road International CooperationPavilionfor Food Science. Kan Jianquan and HuangNan respectively introduced the history and outcomes of Sino-Hungarian cooperation, the development of the College of Food Science, and its major research achievements. After learning in detail about the historical foundation and outcomes of the long-term cooperation between Southwest University and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Liu Chenglong expressed his hope that both sides would further deepen cooperation in the field of food science under the Belt and Road Initiative, proactively align with the strategic deployment of Chongqing's "33618" Modern Manufacturing Cluster System, and continue to make sustained efforts in collaborative research, talent recruitment and gathering, industrial services, and science popularization, so as to better serve the Belt and Road national strategy.
During the subsequent symposium, KanJianquan reported to LiuChenglong and his delegation on the recent progress and achievements of the Joint Laboratory. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on issues including international cooperation and exchange in the food sector, and joint student training. LiuChenglong stated that the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology would fully leverage its role as a bridge and link, providing guidance and support for the construction of the Joint Laboratory in areas such as talent introduction, international academic exchanges, and the popularization of scientific and technological achievements.
